Handmade Awesomeness

These gifts are incredibly thoughtful and super easy to make. You can dress up the packaging with ribbons, tags or labels. Make sure to include the name of your handmade gift, the ingredients used, and instructions on how to use.

Sugar Scrubs: Sugar scrubs are great to help soften and nourish the skin. My favorite recipe is for a Lemon Sugar Scrub that uses a white sugar and lemon essential oil, but there are many variations that use brown sugar or other oils. Another bonus is a batch usually makes quite a bit, so you can divvy up one batch to give to 3-4 people. Here's the recipe:

Lemon Sugar Scrub

2 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tbsp lemon juice

10 drops Lemon essential oil

Mix all ingredients together. Add more olive oil if you think it is too dry or add more sugar if you think it is too wet until you achieve the desired consistency. Store in a glass jar.

Usage instructions: Moisten skin and gently massage sugar scrub into skin. Rinse thoroughly. Use on face, arms, and/or legs.

Room Spray: Many essential oils have a positive effect on mood. Whether it's used in the classroom or at home, a room spray can help brighten any room.

Room Spray Recipe

1 oz witch hazel

1 oz distilled water

10 drops essential oil such as Lemon, Grapefruit, Lavender or Purification blend

(you can also make your own combo)

Mix all ingredients together. Add to a 2oz spray bottle.

Usage instructions: Spray 2-3 times in desired space. Shake well before using.

Rollerballs: Rollerballs are perfect for enjoying essential oils on the go. Create your own special concoction for your gift.

Rollerball Recipe

1 - 10ml rollerball container and fitment, clean and empty

Fractionated coconut oil

Up to 15 drops essential oil of your choice

Create your own mix of up to 3 of your favorite essential oils. Add equal drops of essential oils totaling up to 15 drops. Fill the rollerball bottle the rest of the way with fractionated coconut oil. Try oils such as Orange, Lavender, Lime, Bergamot, Frankincense, Peppermint, Cypress, Ylang Ylang or whatever you like.

Usage instructions: Roll onto wrists, back of neck, behind the ears, and/or feet. Use caution when applying citrus oils to skin exposed to sunlight within 12 hours.
