A hand raised in light

When you think of trauma, you may think about serving in a war, suffering physical or sexual abuse, or experiencing a natural disaster. If you experienced that, you know you’ve gone through traumatic experiences. But if you haven’t, you may think you’ve never had a traumatic experience.

The truth is, you don’t get to decide what triggers a traumatic response within you. Situations like when your friends got together and hated you for a week at school, when someone threw a football at your face in Kindergarten, when a partner cheated on you, or when the world shut down for example, might only seem upsetting or annoying, but could absolutely have triggered a traumatic response within you.

You may try to diminish the detrimental impact some experiences have had on your life, but you don't get to pick which experiences you've had that cause trauma. Whether you knowingly or unknowingly have experienced trauma in your life, my heart goes out to you. It’s one of the major afflictions people face that fuels my need to do what I do with energy healing.

I think it is important to address some lesser talked about truths about trauma.

  1. You don’t get to choose what triggers a traumatic response. You may have experienced things in your life that have triggered a trauma response within your being, your energetic field, and soul. You may try to dismiss or move on from these experiences, but the traumatic response has been triggered and no matter how hard you try to let go, those experiences influence your mind, body, spirit, daily living, behaviors, thoughts, beliefs, action, and inaction.

  2. Trauma can tear your auric field. Your aura is the energy field surrounding your body. Your aura serves as a protector and attractor and is constantly interacting with the energies outside of you. As a protector, your aura filters out detrimental energy to help you maintain optimal well-being for your mind, body, and spirit. As an attractor, it helps you to magnetize people, opportunities, and resources into your life. Trauma can tear your auric field which lessens your protection, making room for detrimental energy to get in and impacts your well-being on every level. Tears also affect your attraction, so instead of attracting what you need and desire, you are more likely to attract what you don't want. Auric tears do not have to be permanent as they can be healed.

  3. Trauma can be inherited. You are heavily influenced by your ancestors whether you recognize that or not. Just as genes are passed down to affect how you look and how you behave, unresolved trauma can be inherited by you from your ancestors. It should be noted that just because an ancestor experienced trauma does not mean that will be passed down to you, just like you don't inherit every single gene, characteristic, or illness presented by an ancestor. But it is possible and it can happen.

  4. Trauma can be healed. Trauma can be healed through energy healing. Most people seek counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, or medication to resolve trauma. Talking about your trauma over and over again gives it energy and keeps it alive and well. This is why people will be in therapy for years for the same issue with little to no improvement. Medication only masks the trauma and may not lead to true resolve. If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional or medication, energy healing can be a helpful, supplemental option to add to your care plan. IMPORTANT: If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, you should continue your care until you find a viable replacement or you and your doctor agree care is no longer needed. If you are currently using medication, DO NOT STOP your medication without a plan created by your doctor and pharmacist as going cold-turkey can be extremely harmful and dangerous.

  5. Earth is struggling to balance the trauma. Everything this living, breathing world experiences is absorbed by Mother Earth. There are less people attempting to create balance than are trying to. Mother Earth needs us to do our part in healing so She can, too.

  6. Healing trauma benefits future generations. Since trauma can be inherited, when you heal your trauma, you prevent those traumatic effects from being passed down to future generations. Yes, what you do and experience in this lifetime has the potential to impact your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and beyond. But you do have a choice.

  7. You are here to break the cycle. You are now equipped with the knowledge that your ancestors affect your energy and experiences as well as your offsprings’ energy and experiences. And your experiences and energy impact Mother Earth, your children, grandchildren and beyond. You are now in control and have the power to make informed decisions in how you care for your energy to benefit yourself and all you love.

Through energy healing, the experiences you’ve had by yourself or ancestors can be healed. It is a powerful tool to help improve the story of your life and the story of your future generations and for Mother Earth herself.

Many people hope to leave this world as a better place for their loved ones, and energy healing is an excellent conduit to make it happen.

Be love. Be light. Just Be.
