Are Your Chakras Out of Balance?

Updated: Sep 13, 2021

Are your chakras out of balance? There are actually signs to alert you they are. First of all, chakras are energy centers of the body. Picture a beautiful, colorful orb of energy that rotates in these centers. There are over 100 chakras throughout the body, but people are most familiar with the 7 main ones: root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown.

Ideally, healthy chakras translate to positive, desirable experiences throughout your life. But it is not uncommon for chakras to become unhealthy.

Sometimes these energy orbs spin too fast or too slow or even in a non-beneficial direction. Sometimes, other energy affects them (think energetic debris) and can even block them. When any of these things happen, issues potentially arise for the mind, body, and/or spirit. When I attend wellness expos, I frequently offer chakra balancing to people who visit my booth. I'm able to identify which of their chakras needs attention and then go over with the individual what kinds of things can happen when that particular chakra is unbalanced. The individual always relates to one or more of the issues we go over. Always. Understanding the correlation between chakras and what we are experiencing can help us tremendously moving forward.

Let's look at possible signs of balanced and unbalanced chakras for each of the main ones. Remember, this does not mean you would experience all of these signs, the following information is simply describing what is possible.

Possible Signs of Balanced/Unbalanced Chakras

The Crown chakra is located at the top of the head and is mostly associated with the color violet, but also gold and white, and is mainly connected to spirituality.

The Third Eye chakra is located above and between the eyebrows and associated with the color indigo. It is mainly connected to intuition and wisdom.

The throat chakra is located at the base of the neck and associated with the color blue. This chakra is responsible for communication and self-expression.

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located the center of the chest and is associated with the color green. This chakra is connected to love and relationships.

Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra is located slightly above the navel and below the sternum in the upper abdomen. It is associated with the color yellow and is responsible for personal power and identity.

Unbalanced: need to control, sensitive, addictive, aggressive, angry, low self-esteem, ulcers, fatigue, allergies, diabetes

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is located in the lower abdomen, a few inches below the naval and is associated with the color orange. It is responsible for emotional balance and sexuality.

Balanced: trusting, expressive, self-aware, creative

Unbalanced: instability, feel isolated, unbalanced sexual desire, impotence, bladder and prostate issues, lower back pain

Root Chakra

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine and is associated with the color red. This chakra is connected to basic needs and stability.

Unbalanced: mental fatigue, unfocused, restless, difficulty achieving goals, osteoarthritis

Balancing Your Chakras

Energy healing can be used to help balance your chakras. How your healer approaches this will vary depending on who you are working with. I usually use pendulum dowsing for a quick and gentle shift, and will incorporate aromatherapy if necessary.

Working with an energy healer will take the guesswork out of what you need to work on, but if you are hesitant to consult professional assistance, you can look into guided meditations (check out YouTube), books about chakras, crystals, or aromatherapy to help you. The explanations above can give you an idea of which of your chakras need your attention.

Caring for your chakras is not the only piece of the complex energy puzzle, but anything you do to support your energetic needs is definitely worthwhile.
