Have you ever sat back and thought about your current state of being? What's going on around you? How are you feeling? What's right? What's challenging? Have you ever wondered what life lesson you're supposed to be learning in this moment? After months of hints, I finally woke up to what the Universe has been wanting me to know.
Arthritis has been coming up in my own personal energy sessions for quite some time. Although I have family members with arthritis, I am not aware this is something I have, but it continues to show up during my sessions. The past few weeks I have been doing yoga on a regular basis. I find some of the poses really strain my upper back, neck, and shoulder area.
Since this pain was occurring regularly, I finally smartened up and asked my guides what was causing this. Do you have any guesses what I learned? If you guessed arthritis, you are correct!
THE MEANING BEHIND THE AILMENT
My mind immediately went to the spiritual and emotional implications of arthritis. I am a firm believer in manifestation. I believe that obstacles and challenges we face, including physical pain, could potentially be a message from our guides alerting us to a lesson that needs to be learned. At the very least, the pain I was experiencing was trying to get my attention. Let it be known I am not diagnosing myself with any particular disease, rather I am merely discovering what underlying issues would manifest itself into these symptoms.
I began searching the Internet to find out if there was a spiritual meaning behind arthritis. In my research, I found arthritis can be a signal that you feel unloved or have resentment. Not resonating with the message, I started researching if people really experience arthritis pain in the neck and shoulder area. Spoiler alert, arthritis can affect your neck and shoulder area.
I had a difficult time accepting this because the possibility that I felt unloved or was carrying resentment hadn't occurred to me. I wasn't going about daily living feeling these things, so could it really apply to me? In the present moment, I felt loved, appreciated, and grateful. I didn't have any issues with anyone. But it seemed with arthritis coming up regularly in my sessions and now the manifestation of physical pain, apparently this message was for me. It's not always easy to acknowledge something about ourselves that we deem undesirable.
BECOMING SELF-AWARE
Wanting to understand the messages and move forward, I gave these issues a lot of thought. When did I not love and accept myself? What do I feel resentment towards? Do I have these feelings now in the present moment? Are these feelings about something from the past?
Then it came to me. I remembered a few years ago being very open and honest with my closest friends, being at an extremely low point in my life. While crying I told them I couldn't even think of one thing I liked about myself. For my birthday, my friends made a list of all the things they loved about me adorned with pictures of us together and the fun times we had. Although I had help addressing lack of self-love and I can finally think of things I do like about myself, was it possible that the energy from that point in my life was still affecting me? Yes, absolutely.
I recently went Live on Facebook by myself for the second time in my life. It took me 30 minutes, lots of essential oils, deep breaths, and positive self-talk to get the courage to do this. Why all the nerves? Fear. Fear of judgement. Fear of criticism. Fear of messing up. But if I truly loved and accepted myself, there wouldn't be any room for fear.
While I wouldn't identify myself as a resentful person now, having this come up did make me think about times I have felt hurt, disappointed, or let down. I may not look at certain people or situations and immediately feel the resentment, but that doesn't mean that low vibrating energy no longer exists.
DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT
It is clear to me I have some work to do. I feel the lesson in my pain was to recognize this baggage I am carrying around that is or has affected my self-perception.
It may be difficult to recognize our deep-seated issues, but it is truly the first step toward personal growth. Pay attention to the signs. Look to your body, your environment, or your current situation. There might be a valuable lesson waiting to be discovered.
Be love. Be light. Just Be.
